Montgomery Release Mugshot Sources
The first possible photo source is an individual record rendered through the Montgomery County Regional Jail JailTracker endpoint. Inspect the matched record rather than assuming every booking has a public image. The static public shell did not prove universal photo coverage.
Once the person no longer appears, the local fallback is a request to the jail for the booking photograph maintained with the booking-and-release record. For a state offender, Kentucky Offender Online Lookup may display a correctional photograph. That DOC image is not necessarily the image created during the Montgomery County booking.

Search Montgomery Booking Photos
Begin by matching the person to one booking. Similar names, aliases, suffixes, and repeat bookings can lead to the wrong photograph.
- Search JailTracker by full name and compare middle name, date of birth, booking details, and charges.
- Open the individual record and note whether a photograph is actually displayed.
- If the record is gone, contact Montgomery County Regional Jail at 859-498-8747 for the records custodian.
- Request the photo with the full name, date of birth if known, and a narrow booking date range.
- Ask for the existing electronic image, any applicable cost estimate, and the legal basis for any withheld portion.
A timestamped screenshot can show what the public roster displayed at that time. It cannot establish a release event. Pair the image with a release sheet or another source that records date, time, and disposition.
Montgomery JailTracker Photo Limits
The current JailTracker page is the verified online local custody route. Its record display should be inspected for the particular person rather than described as a permanent mugshot archive.

The current roster is built for present custody lookup. No public post-release photo retention period was found, and disappearance from the result does not say whether the person went home or transferred.
No Montgomery Release Gallery
No official recent-release photo gallery or jailer or Sheriff inmate app was located in the official-channel sweep. Once a person is removed from current JailTracker, a direct booking-photo request to the jail is the dependable local route. This negative finding saves time that might otherwise be spent searching for an advertised gallery that was not found.
The absence should be stated with care. An agency could add a service or maintain an unpublished process later. As of the research date, the verified channels did not include a Montgomery County released-inmate photo archive, mobile recent-release application, or systematic Sheriff release-news feed.
Montgomery Wanted Photos Differ
The Montgomery County Sheriff publishes a photo-bearing Most Wanted page. Its own label says the displayed people are wanted by the Sheriff’s Office. It is not a release list, a probation absconder database, or a historical jail gallery.
The Sheriff’s Most Wanted source visibly separates that record category from released-inmate records.
A person’s presence there may reflect a later wanted status. Absence proves nothing about present custody or a prior release. Do not use these photographs as substitute mugshots for recently released people.
Request Montgomery Booking Photographs
Send the request first to the jail or jailer because the jail maintains the custody record. A clear request asks for “the booking photograph maintained with the booking-and-release record” and names the person and booking period. Include date of birth, alias, approximate age, arresting agency, booking number, or case number when available.
Under the Kentucky Open Records Act, I request an electronic copy of the booking photograph maintained with the booking-and-release record for [full name and date of birth, if known], for the booking period [date range]. Please provide a cost estimate before incurring charges above [amount]. If any portion is withheld, please identify the withheld portion and legal basis.
Ask for the existing electronic file. No verified jail photo fee, jail-record counter hours, dedicated electronic form, or guaranteed response time was found. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, medical, security-sensitive, and protected personal material may be restricted or redacted.
Montgomery Sheriff Fee Boundary
The Sheriff’s services page publishes a mailing address and a copy statement in its collision and offense report discussion. That narrow statement does not prove the price of a jail release sheet or booking photograph. The Sheriff and the jail are distinct local record channels.

Send Sheriff incident, arrest, or investigative record requests to the Sheriff. Send jail booking-photo and release-record requests to the jail. Ask the correct custodian for its own cost estimate before paying.
Montgomery DOC Photo Records
Kentucky Offender Online Lookup can retain records after secure custody ends and may show a correctional photograph. Compare the DOC number, identifying data, status, offense and sentence information, and any supervision fields. KOOL warns that offender updates occur daily and that newer data may not yet be final.
A KOOL photo documents the state corrections record. It should not be labeled the Montgomery County booking image unless the source establishes that relationship. Similarly, the DOC Daily Releases archive can document a state-offender release event but does not serve as a photo gallery or include every county release.
Montgomery Photo Publication Law
Kentucky law does not create a blanket ban on all public booking photographs. KRS 61.8746 targets a specific commercial practice: publishing a booking or official inmate photograph obtained from a public agency and requiring payment or other consideration for removal. The statute permits an affected person to seek a court order and provides remedies for continuing violations.
That rule does not make every photo public in every circumstance. Kentucky open-records rules, privacy protections, sealing, expungement, juvenile confidentiality, and agency redactions still matter. Preserve the source and booking context. A court order generally proves legal action, not the identity or date of a booking photograph.
Verify Montgomery Photo Identity
Do not identify someone from a search-result thumbnail alone. Compare full name, middle name, suffix, alias, date of birth, booking or DOC number, booking period, charges, and case details. Repeat bookings can produce multiple images of the same person, and common names can produce images of different people.
If identifiers conflict, report the conflict and request the source record. The booking photo can support identity matching, while the release sheet supplies the event. The court order explains the legal act. VINE supplies a notification event, and KOOL supplies state corrections status. Strong verification keeps those functions distinct.
Source dates matter too. A local arrest image may be older or newer than a correctional image in KOOL. A news story may reuse an agency-supplied photograph from an earlier case. Note which agency published the image, the booking or record it belongs to, and when the source was checked. Never infer a later release date from the continued presence of an old photograph.
Pair Montgomery Photos With Records
For a recent event, use 24-Hour Releases or 72-Hour Releases to follow the correct verification chain. Requesting the booking photograph and release fields together can reduce uncertainty, provided the booking period is narrow and the correct jail custodian is contacted.
A photo answers who was pictured at booking. It does not explain bond, dismissal, transfer, sentence expiration, supervision, or the time of physical departure. Use the event record for those facts and keep the agency’s exact disposition wording. When the release destination is public, that field can also distinguish a transfer from a return to the community.
