Check Montgomery County VINE

A Montgomery County VINELink inmate check follows one named person through Kentucky's custody-notification network. Searchers can check a Montgomery County inmate on VINELink, read the status supplied by a participating jail or state prison, and register for a release or transfer alert. VINE is useful after a person disappears from a live roster, but it is not a certified jail release sheet. It also does not cover federal custody. Match identity details, preserve the exact result wording, and confirm a reported Montgomery County release with the jail, court, or state corrections record.

Montgomery VINE Release Fields

A VINE result should be read field by field. “In custody” points to the location supplied by the reporting agency. “Not in custody” or a released status supplies a release date under Kentucky's official explanation. Neither phrase identifies every legal cause or confirms that no new custodian took control. Always keep the source's wording.

VINE field What it supports
Name or ID Identity key that must be matched with other details
Custody status Status last reported by a participating agency
Location Jail or institution reported for an in-custody person
Last update Refresh time, not necessarily the event time
Release date Reported date for a not-in-custody result
Notification controls Registration options for later custody events

A projected date in KOOL is different. It estimates a future sentence milestone and can change. A VINE release date reflects a reported custody event. The jail release sheet records the facility's own disposition and time. The court order records the legal act that authorized or affected custody. Those records should align before a firm conclusion is made.

Register Montgomery Release Notifications

Registration links an alert method to one selected record. Kentucky supports phone, email, text, TTY, and in-app channels. Telephone registration is the best documented official sequence. The caller finds the person, registers a number, and selects a four-digit PIN used to acknowledge the automated call. Kentucky permits two phone numbers.

  1. Confirm the correct person before choosing notification registration.
  2. Select an offered phone, email, text, TTY, or in-app method.
  3. For phone alerts, enter the number and choose a four-digit PIN.
  4. Complete the confirmation shown by the current service.
  5. When an automated call arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge it.

If a jail-release call is not acknowledged with the PIN, calls may repeat every 30 minutes during a 24-hour window. State-institution notice may be attempted 72 hours before a scheduled release when possible. Parole action, court-ordered discharge, immediate credit changes, or escape can leave no advance period, so some alerts arrive after the event. Alert timing must not be treated as the physical exit time.

Note: Registration does not change custody decisions, guarantee advance warning, or replace direct contact with the agency holding the person.

Confirm Montgomery VINE Release Alerts

A VINE alert can lag, arrive out of order, or reflect a change that is not community release. Treat it as a prompt to check the source record. For a Montgomery County Regional Jail booking, request the release date, time, and disposition from the jail. For a state offender, compare KOOL with the dated Daily Releases archive. For a court-ordered release, obtain the docket and order, while remembering that an order may precede jail processing.

VINE limit: A released result shows what the network received. It does not certify sentence completion, release home, or freedom from another detainer.

If sources conflict, record the check time and reporting agency. A person absent from JailTracker but shown in a DOC facility likely transferred into state authority. A court release order paired with an in-custody VINE result may mean processing, another case, a warrant, or a hold delayed departure. Ask the jail for the disposition instead of choosing the more convenient result.

Federal and immigration cases use separate systems. The BOP locator covers federal inmates and generally retains records for people released after 1982. ICE's locator is a civil-immigration tool and may omit recent, transferred, released, or mismatched records. Neither gap should be filled by a claim based on Kentucky VINE.

Montgomery VINE Written Release Notice

Kentucky DOC also has a written-notice path for registered victims of qualifying state offenders. It is distinct from a public VINELink search. State law requires specified release notice to officials and to a victim who properly requested it. The enhanced VINE program may offer status and notification channels, but protected details in a correctional notice are not automatically a public web record.

For personal status verification, use only the public result and official record channels. Do not seek another person's private contact method or notification settings. If the goal is a certified event, request an existing jail release record, final DOC release record, or court order from its custodian. VINE remains the alert layer.

The public search and a registered notice can also differ in timing. A phone call may be generated from an event feed while the web result is still refreshing. Save the exact words and time from each channel, then contact the reporting agency when the two do not match. Do not restate “not in custody” as “free of all custody” unless a second record rules out transfer or a detainer.

Match Montgomery VINE Identities

Identity matching is the first safeguard in any one-person VINE check. Common names, suffixes, aliases, and spelling changes can produce a plausible but wrong result. Compare the full first, middle, and last name; suffix; date of birth or age; offender or booking identifier; facility; and the date range. A photograph may help when one is lawfully displayed, but it should not override conflicting numbers or dates.

A current JailTracker match answers only whether Montgomery County Regional Jail presently lists the person. A VINE match answers what its reporting network presently shows. KOOL answers state-corrections status. When all three identify the same person yet show different locations, use the update times and call the relevant custodian. Data can move through each system on a different schedule.

For a released person, ask the jail for the existing booking-and-release record with the full name, date of birth if known, and booking date range. Request the release date and time, disposition, and destination or transfer field if public. A narrow request does not require staff to invent a narrative. It supplies the source fields needed to interpret the VINE alert.

Montgomery Release Systems Compared

County, state, and federal custody must remain separate. Montgomery County Regional Jail maintains its local booking and release event. Kentucky DOC maintains KOOL and Daily Releases for state offenders. VINE receives notices from participating Kentucky agencies. BOP maintains the federal locator, while ICE operates a distinct civil-immigration locator. A failed search in one system does not establish a release from another.

Question Best source
Is the person on the current county roster? Montgomery County JailTracker
What custody event did VINE receive? Kentucky VINELink result or alert
What is the state correctional status? KOOL and DOC Daily Releases
What authorized release? Court docket, order, or final Board action
Was this a federal release? BOP locator and federal court record

A sound conclusion often aligns two sources. If VINE says released but KOOL names a prison, ask whether the county event was a transfer. If VINE still says in custody after a court order, ask whether another hold delayed departure. Report the conflict when it cannot yet be resolved.

Keep the final statement narrow: identify the agency, event label, date, and check time. That wording remains useful even if the person's status changes later.
